I know I posted the Dusty review already, but now as the rest of Pursuit of Cobra Wave 2 has arrived at my doorstep, I’ll start pumping out those reviews starting with the Arctic Threat Destro!
Wave 2 really continues on the great trend started with Wave 1, and it certainly doesn’t look to be stopping. Check out the Pursuit of Cobra Review Page as I continue to post figure reviews through the week, and get those latest two Alpha Vehicles posted as well.
nope.
I’m actually not digging the green eyes. I like to see the eyes of the man inside the mask, and you lose that with the new paint job on the head.
This is a figure I’ll probably pass on, although that auger would be nice so that Snow Job could do some ice fishing.
Terrific arctic version of one of my favorite characters.
Visually I’m not found of the green eyes either but they sure make a whole lot more sense considering he should have something covering his eyes in the Arctic. Kind of the same way that it’s ludicrous that people wanted a black HISS with glass canopy as the desert themed Cobra tank. In addition to…yeah, for sure, but not as a desert tank. So here the green eyes make sense.
The Rise of Cobra body armor sucks as usual and it’s an ailmnent throughout the PoC line that drags a lot of figures down from greatness but what can you do? Lcukily most of the figures cover it with really cool gear as is the case here as well.
I still prefer an arctic-themed Destro simply made of some arctic 25th figures and a Destro head, but that fits in with 25th themed stuff. As a PoC figure I think Destro works perfectly. My least favorite of wave 2 but still light years ahead of the uber-crap, yesterdays garbage Cobra Commander in wave 1.
Double edged sword, given the green eyes. The “human” eyes on most ROC-based Destros is they look like they’re constipated and really trying to get relief. However, the green now makes him look like a terrible Destro but an average Mr. Freeze. POC, wrongly named character streak continues!
