So as I was working through my last post about Action Force and Palitoy, tkprime over at the MS Gulf Coast Collectors’ Club jumped on my Facebook page and reminded me of some very cool diorama projects they have going on using some of the parts and pieces from some old Palitoy playsets.
Using the templates from the Palitoy Death Star and the Action Force headquarters, he has done up some very cool G.I. Joe themed designs for a custom Terror Drome and Adventure Team Headquarters! Designed to be printed on foamcore, or some other rigid material, these can be printed out and built according to included instructions, and the surface scans are VERY high resolution for amazing detail.
These are absolutely insane. A great resource for diorama fans, or even fans of some of those old school 80’s playsets.
I have mirrored a selection of low res images below, just because my gallery can handle all those high-resolution images, but you should absolutely hit the MS Gulf Coast Collectors’ Club forums at the links below to download the original high resolution images! These do not look all that complicated, and they look like they could provide some great display space. Just imagine your newly acquired Collectors’ Club Adventure Team figures hanging out in a brand spanking new Adventure Team Headquarters! Check out the links below, with some mirrored images as well.

These were the “Alpha” versions of our club’s 2 exclusive bases, I hope everyone enjoys them.
By “Alpha” I mean that they were the first version, we went thru several remods before reaching the final versions for our Exclusives.
this is very very cool!
As nice as the “Alphas” look, I’d imagine the final versions are pretty sweet.
Personally, I’m not big on Action Force/Adventure Team stuff, but I have gotten very interested in the Red Shadows, so it would be wicked cool to see some type of Shadows HQ to go along with the Red Shadows Exclusive set this year for those fortunate enough to snag them.
Aside from that, I like the Terror Drome concept and would like to see a regular (ARAH & etc.,) Joe HQ (Underground PITT, the Marvel comics have lots of good reference points and schematics for referencing), or something similar (preferably not anything RoC oriented though).
Some other options might be the Silent Castle, Castle Destro (for his Iron Grenadier Troops), Cobra Island Freighter, an Oktober Guard HQ, among some other options.
Thanks for sharing these two versions though. They still look like fun ideas.
We have several other “Themed” Projects that we’re working on at present, and I know that Dio lovers everywhere are going to be excited when we showcase them, but there are some things we need help with. (The link is just a taste of what is to come, and what we need thus far).
