Yeah, tomorrow’s gonna be a great day. For whatever reason, much of the IDW stuff hasn’t really been grabbing me…but G.I. Joe: Cobra did. The G.I. Joe: Cobra Special did. And from the looks of things, G.I. Joe: Cobra II is going to rock my balls off. No amazing action or anything so far, but just the crisp writing, the unique art style and the way it all comes together is just impressive. IGN has posted another 5-Page preview, which I’ve mirrored below.

Now the question is… is that Jinx? And if so, does this take place before the first series? Or is this someone different? I guess we’ll find out… and if you missed the preview from yesterday, here’s that as well:

Actually, the bit where she’s mistaken for the Baroness makes me think this is probably Chameleon. And kudos to IDW for trying to do anything with that character, let alone something interesting.
Ooop, you’re right, the new preview probably does feature Jinx, and I bet it is a flashback. The new agent referred to in the release is almost definitely Chameleon IMO.
Maybe it’s the same story, told from Jinx’s perspective?
I wanna say it’s Jinx, but the one we know and love, not the one from the first series. I think the Chameleon character is an attempt to let the reader know that nothing is as it first appears. Plus, Jinx is a code name. Sometimes, things carry over…?
We’ll see. I’m sold, but I have to wait for the trade, sadly. I just can’t afford the single issues, neither in cost and real-estate.
Hopefully it’s not Jinx. Next Round Q&A’s will be flooded with people asking for a Jinx figure from Hasbro to which Hasbro will reply,
“No plans at this time, or 2011, 2012 and the 2020’s are looking too good either. But we are really excited (and you should be too) for the lineup (that probably won’t make it to retail) this fall which will all new versions of Duke, Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow, Scarlett, Heavy Duty, Ripcord, Snake Eyes, Snow Job and Wild Billy because we have to keep making these same Joes over and over and no one else so it all looks fresh and keeps it modern.”
Yeesh, Alpine, who peed in your corn flakes this morning?
No kidding, I just read the comments from the last 4 posts and every single one of them has a negative comment from Alpine. Ease up a bit buddy, your constant negativeness is kind of a downer.
So, it’s negative simply because I said it? Or has Hasbro never said those things?
Hasbro has stated it’s got the main 8 characters in mind it wants to do to “keep it fresh and modern”.
With Jinx and others we haven’t seen in years, Hasbro says “No plans at this time”.
Sorry it brought you guys down, but it is true.
