Not a whole lot of action in this one, but a look into the characters of Scarlett and Ripcord. Check it out below, thanks to tkprime’s YouTube encode:

Wayans makes me hate this movie more and more everyday.
Really? That scene was light-hearted and Wayans is actually perfectly suited for stuff like that. I enjoyed it.
For once I actually feel pity for the character that Wayans is playing, last time I saw someone shot down that harshly I was the one on the receiving end. If that is the way the rest of the movie is (outside of action sequences) I think I am going to be loving it.
You know, this helps a bit. I have been trying to figure out what value Ripcord brings to the team. He can’t solely exist to be Duke’s “Bucky” sidekick and still make the cut for the team. Hawk explains that he tests above the needs for the team, so that makes him a legitimate soldier addition on a fast learning curve. His social skills with the ladies may work some charm with those lesser than Scarlett, but he’s going nowhere with her. I think that illustrates a bit of their characters and creates a better realism. You can’t have Duke be the only super-soldier on the team and not have him come off looking like some kind of lab experiment, so introduce Ripcord as his equal, yet somewhat goofy parallel. Just like real life… sorta. Anyhow, it explains a bit more the validity of including Ripcord this way in the story and makes Scarlett that unattainable senior girl we all encountered as high school freshmen. For the movie it works.
