I’ve spoken about the blank slot in the 17-disc Complete Series set during my review, but wasn’t really sure if it was just an Easter Egg, a mistake, or something there was plans for in the future. Well, a friend of GeneralsJoes stopped by the Shout! Factory booth in San Diego yesterday, and we’re happy to report that Shout! confirmed they are working to release G.I. Joe: The Movie as a standalone DVD in 2010!
They’ve also thought long and hard about getting the DiC series on DVD as well, and it’s something that they would love to be able to do.

It was supposed to be in the box set but it was pulled so as not to cause confusion with the live action movie this summer. But yes, I spoke to Shout! yesterday and that is their plan. You get the movie next year and can just slide it into your complete series box set in that empty slot. Pretty cool huh.
I’m excited that G.I. Joe: The Movie is going to be released on DVD by Shout! Factory in 2010 that I’m going to get.
