Along with the images of upcoming vehicles on HissTank.com, toyssir898 also comes through with quite the coup! We get a very detailed look at the apparent upcoming SDCC Destro 2-pack featuring a movie-accurate Destro in full business suit as well as one of his ancestors with his own unique mask and set of weapons. What a GREAT looking set…I have a feeling this one is going to be damn tough to get a hold of after the fact. Check out the original HissTank thread here, and the images mirrored below.

Please… please… please reuse that body sculpt for a certain Dr Venom we been waiting 25 years for.
Those look phantastic. I REALLY hope Hasbro manages to get HTS working for Canada by SDCC.
That broadsword of Destro I looks great.
And here’s hoping the James McCullen figure ends up in mass release with a different paintjob and maybe less chrome, because it is stellar.
You know, I traditionally hate any outfit that prevents a figure’s articulation from being used. Imo, lack of soft goods totally destroyed the Resolute Cobra Commander (and the Indy Monkey Man was one of the worst cases in recent years…unable to ride a motorcycle).
But in this case, it actually makes sense. All that armor would be pretty inhibiting in reality.
This set looks amazing. It certainly fits the specific tastes of the collector crowd and I doubt these figures would be the first ones off the pegs at retail. But I really do hope we see the present-day Destro mold in some form.
I think this set also demonstrates an underlying respect for the established Destro character by the crew handling the film. That tie tack is certainly a callback to the medallion found on Destro v1. And I am psyched to see an ancestor finally in plastic form.
Okay.
So.
Hasbro hates making new molds for GIJoes.
Night Creeper’s got Flint arms, Wet-Suit is just a redeco of Torpedo, “Valor vs Venom” Snake-Eyes is just the “89” Snake-Eyes with some “original 13” webgear…
And yet they make an entirely new sculpt for a one-time limited edition SDCC toy, the older Destro guy.
It’s mind-boggling.
