I’m surprised you found issue with Mutt’s legs, but ignored his arms. The arm flap at the bottom of the upper arm, while not that bad on the Viper, is horrible here. And his right lower arm is terrible. It’s too scrawny, and his hand is sculpted in a horrible position where he can barely hold the gun, and aims it at a rediculous angle.
Odd that you have no pics of Junkyard… Hmph. And have you tried turning the upper-lower arms around on Duke? ‘Cause my new Doc has some pretty good range.
Great reviews so far! Looking forward to more.
I noticed that your disappointment and lack of enthusiasm for Tiger Force Duke was very different in tone than your review of JUMP Duke. Is that mostly because the latter came out earlier in the line, or do you consider the Jet Pack figure better than Tiger Force? Do the arms and the darker colors make any difference to you? I have not gotten either of those two– should I skip both and wait for the “Best of…” DVD Pack? I switched out the heads from the first Battle Pack Duke and the Wave 4 CP figure to create a figure that I’m mostly satisfied with, but I could stand to get another Duke. Thanks.
A Duke Fan
Thanks for the feedback guys.
Truthfully, no I didn’t have any issues with Mutt’s arms necessarily. Certainly not as glaring as the Viper, in my opinion. And sorry about the lack of a Junkyard picture, I thought I had one in there. I’ll get that taken care of.
Thanks for the tip on spinning Duke’s arms. That actually helped immensely. Much better range of motion, and very much improved over the original.
I do prefer the Tiger Force version of Duke to the jet pack version, sorry if my review didn’t really pan out that way. A lot of external things will sometimes influence the flow and “tone” of a review, and I think I’m going to incorporate my “star” reviews into future YoJoe entries, just so maybe it’s easier for folks to get an “end result” type of feel from them. Thanks!
Dead on about Mutt BTW! I can’t believe that people rave about him and then dump on a awesome figure like TF Duke, both of which I just acquired. I think for Mutt that he’s just odd enough as a figure that you’ll only like him as much as you have an affection for the character. Toy reviews tend to be fairly subjective that way, of course– though I still tend to trust yours. Thanks.
