GeneralsJoes Reviews G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #208

I was hoping to get this published last week, but time was not on my side.  But better late than never.

Hama and Gallant once again dive into the classic Real American Hero world, yet manage to bring some new things to the table.  Are they all good?  I’m not 100% convinced, but I’m willing to buckle up and take the ride.

“Making it Up as I Go Along” – A documentary on Larry Hama from the Spitting Image

The Spitting Image is a creative production company and they focused some of their exceptionally talented attention on our very own Larry Hama. A new documentary entitled “Making it Up As I Go Along” follows Hama through New York ComicCon, hundreds of comics, and over three years of camera footage to produce a very slick and nicely presented documentary.

You can check it out on the Spitting-Image website, and it’s a great looking piece of work. Obviously there are G.I. Joe references throughout the production.

Preview for IDW Publishing G.I. Joe: ARAH #206

New comic day tomorrow! While we still have a little while to wait for the new #1 issue of Karen Traviss’ take on G.I. Joe, tomorrow brings us another installment in the fantastic G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero continuation by Larry Hama and SL Gallant.

I can tell from the preview that this is going to be a fun one. Some definite shades of old school Marvel greatness in these first few pages. Check out the preview and details below.

With Torpedo’s team barely escaping their mission with their lives, G.I. JOE takes a moment to honor the mission’s sole casualty. But COBRA gives the Real American Hero team no time to rest as they move their latest nefarious plot forward. Never a dull moment in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #206!

IDW Solicitations for November, 2014

At least partly.

The majority of the images and details for November’s G.I. Joe releases has been revealed by IDW Publishing, though they didn’t post the retail cover for G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #208 and I don’t see anything for Transformers vs. G.I. Joe.

As for the rest of it, check out the list below… in spite of myself, I’m getting excited for the next new iteration of the main G.I. Joe title, and of course, Real American Hero continues to blow me away. Click the “Continue Reading” link to check out the full solicitation list.
