G.I. Joe Collectors Club reveals 2014 Convention Exclusive DAWG

My first reaction?  Ewww…  but I think that’s probably supposed to be the first reaction.  Ever since Resident Evil thrilled video gamers with the cut scene of zombie dogs hurling themselves through windows, the idea of these brain-eating beasts has floated around through many different properties.

Now the G.I. Joe Collectors Club is doing their own version of a zombie dog, going the pit bull route.  Obviously infused with some kind of Compound Z formula, DAWG has seen some better days.  What I find most interesting about this reveal is that the identify Repulsor as a “director of security for Cobra Industries”…

The last time we heard about Cobra Industries was G.I. Joe: Renegades…  and I gotta admit, I get an ear-to-ear grin just thinking about that series.  It does make me a bit more interested to see just what Repulsor might end up being.  There have been rumors that he’s a variation of a Sludge Viper (early concepts for Sludge Viper indeed identified him as “Repulsor”) but I will admit, I have no idea what to expect here.  He’s the last reveal, and hopefully we’ll be seeing him this week.  Meanwhile, hit up GIJoeCon.com for the full details, and DAWG can also be seen below.

G.I. Joe Collectors Club showcases final HAVOC MK II sample and price

As we churn closer to JoeCon and to the spring release date, the G.I. Joe Collectors Club has posted final sample images of the upcoming HAVOC MK II and also revealed the price – $42 + shipping!

That actually seems like a great price to me, as I’ve heard some folks hypothesize that it would be closer to $65.  Hit up GIJoeClub.com to see the full details, and I’ve mirrored one of the images below.

G.I. Joe Collectors Club first out of the gate with 50th Anniversary Press Pictures

Over on their Facebook page, the G.I. Joe Collectors Club has started posting press images of the upcoming G.I. Joe 50th Anniversary product!

Check out the gallery right here and make sure you “Like” their Facebook page while you’re at it.

The Press Images will be widely available tonight, so I’m not going to mirror those images, you can find them at this link.

Suffice it to say, we are getting concept case Destro and Leatherneck, Lady Jaye, and HEAT Viper, but at the same time we’re getting re-releases of a standard color Blowtorch (for the third time, really?!), PoC General Hawk and Low Light.

I will say the Cobra Wolf with Ice Viper is an exceptionally great surprise.  WOW!

Anyway, check out the images right here.

G.I. Joe Collectors Club reveals 2014 JoeCon Joe Colton!

Fans have been wondering exactly how the G.I. Joe Collectors Club was going to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of G.I. Joe with their 2014 Convention Exclusive Joe Colton.

As it turns out, it’s less of an homage to his 50 year birthday, and more a direct homage to his first appearance in the Marvel Comics way back when.  As an unabashed Real American Hero and Marvel Comics fan, I have zero problems with this.

I can see some of the 12″ fans finding some issues with it, but I am digging it.  I would imagine they had to retool the head to fit the neck ball a bit better, and they made some changes to the coat as well, by the looks of things.

As a reminder, this figure will be available with a display stand and photo backdrop in the 12″ Convention Set.  The G.I. Joe Collectors Club has mentioned that he will be available separately as well, though not with the same display stand and backdrop.  Check out GIJoeCon.com for the full details, and the image is mirrored below (along with the comic reference sent out by GIJoeCon on Twitter).
