Additional BAIT Duke images intrigue me further

While I thought Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow looked pretty cool, I didn’t necessarily feel super invested in the whole BAIT/1000Toys G.I. Joe project, but Duke might be slowly changing my mind.

Granted, I won’t be in San Diego and wouldn’t be able to pony up the $230 to buy him, but some additional images posted to the 1000 Toys Facebook Page has  given me a new appreciation of what they’re trying to do.

Amazing articulation, a nicely stylized look and some pretty nasty looking weapons make for a new interpretation of G.I. Joe that actually feels right in my wheelhouse.  As a fan of Metal Gear and a lot of those “10 minutes in the future” military stories, the idea of a cyborg operative is a neat one, and the execution here is pretty stellar.

Check out the images on the 1000 Toys Facebook Page.  That’s likely the closest I’ll get to owning one of these figures, but I feel a lot more bummed out about that now than I did 24 hours ago.  The new images look sharp.

BAIT, 1000Toys and Alpha Industries announce ComicCon exclusive Duke

As ComicCon is ready to ramp up later this week, BAIT, 1000Toys and Alpha Industries have gone to Instagram to announce an addition to their G.I. Joe line up of 12″ figures.  Joining Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow is their intriguing take on Duke!

I like how they’re still sticking with their cyborg storyline, just introducing G.I. Joe themed characters to it, though I’ll admit, if they didn’t say this was Duke, I wouldn’t have guessed it was.

Check out the pictures over on the BAIT Instagram Page.

1000 Toys BAIT Storm Shadow revealed

During ComicCon over the weekend, 1000 Toys not only launched the pre-order for their upcoming 12″ Snake Eyes, but also debuted a first look at Storm Shadow as well!

And holy crap.  I LOVE that Storm Shadow.  It’s a completely unique take on the COBRA Ninja, with a fantastic looking robotic head sculpt and some insane looking articulation, yet still manages to have the look and feel of the classic character.

The more I look at these two figures, the more I feel like I need them in my Detolf display case, and the more I wonder how the heck I would possibly afford it.  Check out the images below and big thanks to Chris from The Full Force for the heads up!

Full details revealed on the 1000 Toys 1:6 Scale Snake Eyes

Every day seems to bring a new nugget of news about the 1000 Toys and BAIT 12″ Snake Eyes action figure recently revealed at the Thailand Toy Expo.  Over on the 1000 Toys Facebook Page we see some great insight into the figure, including a whole storyline written for this updated version of our favorite ninja commando!

This will be our first collaboration project with BAIT, the North American premium retailer for the West Coast region.
Snake Eyes, the iconic ninja commando from the G.I. Joe series, will be the first product from G.I. Joe×TOA Heavy Industries!

=====
A project to resurrect an old-generation soldier using his DNA info has been requested to TOA Heavy Industries from the Arashikage Clan.
After a successful DNA restoration close to 80%, the soldier was then resurrected using the Synthetic Human body with the restored DNA info.
Even though the memory restoration was incomplete, the soldier became to successfully accomplish numerous covert missions on his own.

In the midst of a rescue mission for captured engineers, the soldier is ambushed by a mysterious white shadow…

I love that they’re actually building a backstory here, and it certainly seems as if Storm Shadow might be waiting in the wings as well.  I just got a lot more excited about this proposition.
