A little bit more about the G.I. Joe Review Podcasts

I know I already promoted the podcast in yesterday’s entry (and even added a nice little sidebar widget to the latest episode!) but I wanted folks to be sure they check out the archives as well.  Since I’ve been remiss in putting notices up on the site here, folks should be well aware of what a quality podcast Chris, Matt, and Chad have been producing for the past number of months.  Here are just a few highlights, for those interested.

Episode 21 – Interview with Robert Atkins, artist of the new IDW series

Episode 18 – Recap of information from San Diego ComicCon 2008

Episode 14 – Interview of Rod Whigham, long time artist of the classic G.I. Joe comics from Marvel

Those are just a few of the many interesting episodes that the guys have posted.  Give them a shot, I think you’ll find them worth your time, especially as IDW keeps rolling with the new comic.

The official Podcast of GeneralsJoes!

Hey, I gotta have an official Podcast, right?  I can’t be a 21st Century State of the Art G.I. Joe Blog© without an official podcast!  Thankfully I can have one without even doing any actual work.  😉

My buddies over at GIJoeReview have been doing their podcast for a while now and for whatever reason I’ve shirked in my duties letting the online community know about it.  It’s mostly focused on the comics, and with IDW taking the license and running with it just last week, they devote a good portion of their show to that, and even scored an interview with IDW Editor Andy Schmidt.

It’s a great listen whether you’re a Joefan, a comic fan, or both.  Check it out!

New site/forum for 1:18 fans

Long time Joefan “Smokescreen” has fired up a new player in the website/forum game, One-18TH.com. He is attempting to tackle the entire 1:18 scale from Star Wars to Captain Power, G.I. Joe, and the upcoming Fury Files Marvel toys. The forum is already pretty active, and the interface is cool as well. Give it a whirl, lots of Joefans there already!

Update done (and new feature added)

Well, that was actually easier than I thought it would be.  Got the WordPress Update wrapped up this afternoon and added a new feature while I was at it.  Check over on the left sidebar, and you’ll see “Justin’s Featured Vid” and “Justin’s Random Vids”.  Those are two little plugins I dug up that will stream straight from Youtube.  Expect the featured vid to change from time to time, and the Random vids will just kind of pull from my Youtube library.  Mostly Joe stuff, but sometimes maybe not.  Who knows?

By the way, if you don’t see the videos, just make sure you’ve got the latest version of Adobe Flash installed for your particular browser…

Also working on the review/”Best Moments” of the “Best of the 80’s” DVD Battle Pack, so there’s some…well… actual content to look forward to.  😉

Thanks as always for checking out the site!

WordPress Update coming…

There’s a major upgrade to the WordPress software out there, and I will be doing the upgrade at some point this weekend.  So if you notice any plug ins missing or other things a little wonky, that’s what’s going on.  It shouldn’t take too terribly long, but wanted to make you aware just in case.

Thanks!

A new player in the Joe site game

One thing I love about the G.I. Joe brand blossoming in 2008 and 2009 is that G.I. Joe sites seem to be multiplying.  However, I believe this site would have come about regardless of Joe’s recent popularity.  Dan Moore has been a long time collector and specializes in very unique items that aren’t necessarily the mainstream toy stuff.  Well, he’s been working on this site for a few years now and finally JoeIntel.com has been launched.

It’s an archive site of sorts, but with a ton of great stuff that I don’t think a lot of folks have seen.  There’s also some forums there, awesome web design, and a wealth of very cool stuff to see.

Check it out!
