by generalsjoes | Aug 1, 2014 | G.I. Joe, G.I. Joe Collectors Club, Transformers
Okay, maybe I’m looking too deeply into this, but just yesterday the official Transformers Collectors Club Tweeted the following:
Okay, first and foremost, when talking about Transformers, the word “Shockwaves” always brings a little twinkle to my eye, simply because he’s one of my favorite characters in Transformers lore. Another little curiosity, though was the word “fandoms”. Note the plural. Then as if those weren’t enough clues, guess who Retweeted that Tweet? Yeah, you guessed it, the G.I. Joe Collectors Club:
Considering the “reveal” is mentioned by the Transformers side of the Collectors Club, it would seem evident that this is a Transformers item with potential G.I. Joe connections. Will this lead to more mixing of the two universes going forward? That will be interesting to see.
Kudos to the Club(s) for at least keeping things somewhat interesting in a slow news cycle for the G.I. Joe side of the house.

What started off as a little get together for G.I. Joe fans in a certain region has now grown to a full fledged G.I. Joe celebration .
Every year, the folks from Codename: Iowa run a fantastic G.I. Joe themed gathering and convention entitled Assembly Required, which has attracted G.I. Joe celebrities like Ron Wagner, former Hasbro designer Matt Brandenberg, and recently featured a fantastic display case from G.I. Joe DeClassified. They have fun activities for adults and kids as well as items for sale, and of course, their now famous “Minimalist” prints.

by generalsjoes | Jul 29, 2014 | 12" Scale, G.I. Joe, Sideshow Reviews
Unlike many other G.I. Joe fans out there, I was drawn to this 12″ Destro the first minute I saw it. The great modern touches and terrific vintage throwbacks seemed to create the perfect combination for this Sideshow update. Granted, it was nowhere near 100% vintage accurate, but I’m one of those folks who doesn’t need that sort of stuff to enjoy a figure.
All in all, as much as I was looking forward to the figure, the end result matched every single expectation I had.
Check out the Sideshow Collectibles Review section, or click the link below to read the review, and if you like what you see, the figure is still in stock at SideshowToy.com!

First of all, some apologies, as I know this is a very short episode, but the flow of the story just felt right with the shorter episode this week. It should pick back up next week.
The G.I. Joe team has successfully broken Cobra’s front ranks, but the battle is far from won…and what does General Flagg have up his sleeve? The Final Countdown begins NOW. Err… but it’s a long countdown… we got like 20 episodes left.
Check out the latest episode in the Darkness Falls section, or the link below!
