So we just finished checking out Episodes 1 and 2, and here we are finding out stuff about Episode 6! Yeesh.
Thanks goes out, once again, to fellow Renegades nutcase kennywr22, who hit up the familiar MSNTV.com website and dug out the following Renegades intel about Episode 6 (Homecoming, Part 1):
“Duke goes home to protect his family from Cobra; the team infiltrates Cobra’s Christmas party.”
We heard rumors before the show started that Michael Bell and B.J. Ward (Sunbow’s Duke and Scarlett) would be doing the voices for Duke’s parents…this looks like where we’ll hear them.
Homecoming (Part 1) is currently slated to air along with Part 2 on Christmas Eve.

Many folks have been complaining about the look of Cobra Commander in the new G.I. Joe: Renegades animated series, and I can certainly understand why. With that bizarre Phantom of the Opera half-mask thing going on, it’s a little confusing to tell exactly what attaches to what or why he’s wearing it.
At this point, my guess is that he’s got some sort of disfigurement, but who knows for sure?
However, thanks to Clem over on HissTank.com (who just happens to be Clement Sauve, the main designer for G.I. Joe: Renegades) we now know that Cobra Commander WILL wear a more armored “battle helmet” of sorts during the animated series. The exact quote is as follows:
“There is indeed 2 masks, more precisely the one you’ve seen on the show and the helmet shown in the image from the game that everyone’s been posting.”
So, indeed, there is something to look forward to. For folks wondering what mask he’s talking about, this would be it:

Due to some holiday scheduling, I didn’t get a chance to peruse G.I. Joe: Renegades until later tonight, but now that I’ve had a chance to watch it and digest it… I’m ready for more!
I will admit the first episode actually left me wanting a bit more, which I was surprised about. There was certainly a healthy helping of action, twists, turns, and great character interaction, but it just felt incomplete. Nothing to worry about, though, as Episode Two came on right afterwards and really helped finish off the two-parter in excellent fashion.
Plenty of characters, some great nods to the fans, and in my mind, the animation was great as well. But of course, don’t take my word for it… head on over to the GeneralsJoes Renegades SuperPage to check out the latest updates! Straight out of the gate, I’ve reviewed Episode 1 and Episode 2 and posted full intel over on the G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode Guide.
There you’ll find a detailed episode synopsis and tons of video clips pulled from both inaugural episodes.
Enjoy, and trust me, more content is coming, I just gotta have time to wade through it all. Yo Joe!

Well, anyone who has visited the site knows I’m keyed up about G.I. Joe: Renegades. I know that has pissed some people off, but hey, it’s my site, so deal with it. I’ve been working hard to make sure I cover plenty of other content as well as Renegades so for those of you who would bitch about it will just have to learn to live with it.
This weekend especially, Renegades fans should expect an onslaught of content as the first two episodes air. I’ve already got the Renegades SuperPage up with links to characters, the Episode Guide, and all of your latest breaking news from the series. As the episodes hit this evening, expect episode reviews, synopsis, video clips, and updates throughout all sections of the site.
Just like I did for Sigma 6, when G.I. Joe reinvents itself, and I enjoy the reinvention, I have a tendency to go all out. We’ll see if Renegades keeps my attention even after I’ve seen the first two episodes. So for Renegades fans, there will be a lot to love this weekend. For folks who don’t like Renegades, the latest wave of Pursuit of Cobra figures is hitting my house next week, keep an eye out for those reviews. No, I will not be sacrificing PoC content for Renegades stuff. Don’t even worry about that.
Can’t wait to see the cartoon tonight, and looking forward to discussing it!

For folks out there eagerly anticipating the first airing of G.I. Joe: Renegades, don’t forget that The Hub will be airing a special “behind the scenes” look at G.I. Joe: Renegades and Transformers: Prime at 3:30pm Eastern!
I’m stuck here at work, so I won’t be able to check it out, but hopefully other folks will take a peek and let us all know how it looks.
And of course, in a little less than two short hours, G.I. Joe: Renegades arrives. It will be interesting to see if the internet folds in on itself from the rampant praise and/or complaints from the respective camps.
If nothing else, it will be entertaining.

Okay, I’ll admit, I’m as fired up about new concepts in G.I. Joe as the next guy, but initially I was not sure exactly what to think about this idea. I’ve never really been enamored with the whole Manga concept, though I do know it has its share of fans. Devils’ Due actually tried this experiment as well with the Arashikage Showdown trade paperback when they had the license, and that particular issue didn’t really resonate with me.
