Throughout the release process, Hot Toys typically releases a series of images taken by bloggers who have had direct access to their action figure releases, and this holds true with their upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation Roadblock figure release. The Hot Toys Facebook page has unloaded with well over seventy images of G.I. Joe: Retaliation Roadblock and some of these pictures are blowing me away.
This figure, without a doubt, looks to be the flagship of the Hot Toys G.I. Joe: Retaliation line, with layered body armor, different shirts, a fully functional Battle Kata weapons system, as well as the M249 SAW and deadly movie accurate uniform. The face sculpt does look just a bit hit or miss in my opinion, but soup to nuts this representation of Roadblock is spectacular.
Check out the Hot Toys Facebook Page for the full gallery, and a bunch of the images are mirrored below.

We have some pretty big landmarks in both the classic Transformers and G.I. Joe comic continuities coming up with Transformers: Regeneration #100, and of course G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #200. To celebrate these two events, IDW Publishing solicited fantastic G.I. Joe artist Robert Atkins to develop a double cover to both issues, which take both franchises and slam them together into one awesome image. Over on his blog at Robert Atkins Art, he shows off the rough and final pencils of this cover and the results are, as one might expect, astoundingly awesome.
Check out his progress commentary over on the Robert Atkins Art blog, and take a peek at the final penciled art below.

We’ve gotten our fair share of G.I. Joe and Transformers cross overs throughout the years from Marvel, Devils’ Due, and even Dreamwave, but to date we have not gotten the same thing yet from IDW Publishing.
This summer that all changes as Tom Scioli takes over writing (along with John Barber) and art duties for the upcoming Transformers and G.I. Joe limited series. By all accounts, though, this isn’t our typical crossover. Scioli says that this story doesn’t take place in any real existing continuities, but it sounds like it works as a story enough to fit where the reader wants it to fit.
But what’s truly unique about this upcoming series is Scioi’s fascinating take on the artwork. Using the 80’s aesthetic with some very cosmic style artwork, Scioli completely embraces the vintage look and feel, and I’m loving it. Newsrama interviewed Scioli about his process in accepting the job and working through the early stages.
Find the interview right here, and check out a couple of early images below.
