G.I. Joe: Retaliation Wave 2 three packs hitting Target!

We are nearly a month into 2013, and G.I. Joe: Retaliation product has officially started hitting retail.  Word is Target stores have started stocking the second wave of G.I. Joe: Retaliation 3 packs including the Cobra Invasion set with Firefly, Cobra Trooper, and Storm Shadow and the Tactical Ninja Team with Snake Eyes, Sgt. Airborne, and Agent Mouse.

Big thanks to James Doble (Jack Sparrow) for passing the word along.  Images can be seen below.

Mammoth 71st episode of What’s on Joe Mind is now online

Yes, it’s been a while since we’ve posted an episode of What’s on Joe Mind, but hopefully we’ve made up for it with the length of this one!  Clocking in at just over three hours, there’s enough G.I. Joe conversation here to keep any Joe fan satisfied.

We talk to legendary toy expert Mark Bellomo and winner of the What’s on Joe Mind Fantasy Football league (and operator of the awesome GIJoeGraphy site) Dan Uthman.

The next 2013 G.I. Joe Convention Exclusive revealed – Night Force Charbroil!

And this just might be a figure that is better than his previous version.  Far, far better.

Charbroil was always somewhat of a second rate Blowtorch in my opinion, and even though his Night Force version did add some nice credibility to the character (I really hated the brown, yellow, and silver look) he still wasn’t really high on my list of knock out characters.  Of course, appearing in the same assortment as Hit & Run, one might expect he got a little overshadowed.

The Collectors Club has revealed their version of Night Force Charbroil now, and it is pretty nice.  Using what appears to be the G.I. Joe: Retaliation Joe Trooper body from neck to toe (which I have ZERO issues with, as demonstrated by my Best Toys of 2012 article), he’s got a newly tooled helmet and backpack and even without a ton of detail work, the figure looks really nice.  Love the combination of gray and blue here.

Check out the latest update at GIJoeCon.com, and I’ve mirrored the image below.

Clearer look at Hot Toy’s insane looking G.I. Joe: Retaliation Storm Shadow

For folks like friend of the site Arune Singh, who longs for a shirtless Lee Byung-Hun, this 12″ representation of the G.I. Joe: Retaliation Storm Shadow looks like he might be just what the doctor ordered.  A promotional image circulating features a decent up close look of the upcoming Cobra Ninja, and it looks awesome.

Folks who like the movie appearance of Storm Shadow (and yes, I am one of them) this figure looks very, very cool.  You can almost feel the depth and quality of the trenchcoat through the picture on the computer screen.  Roadblock is featured in the image as well, though he’s a bit blurry and in the background.  Big thanks to geektrooper on Tumblr for the heads up.  The image is mirrored below.
