G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode 5 Promo on YouTube

Yeah, I’m a little slow on the draw this time around.  I’d been DVR’ing a bunch of shows throughout the week, hoping to catch this one (which got cut off during the initial record of Episode 4).
Well, thanks to a tip from kennywr22, I recorded the reruns of Transformers: Prime tonight and…  BINGO.
There is certainly some new footage in this particular promo, and it obviously puts a lot of attention on the conflict between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.  Episode 5, Return of the Arashikage, Part 2 airs tomorrow at 5:30pm Eastern, only on The Hub!  Check out the embedded video below.

GeneralsJoes Reviews G.I. Joe: Cobra #11

What can I say?  IDW seems to be on a roll this month…  Hama’s G.I. Joe: Real American Hero title was fantastic this month, the mainline Joe title has shown a direct uptick, I’ve been deeply entrenched in G.I. Joe: Origins, and it’s been terrific seeing Chuckles thrust back into the spotlight during the G.I. Joe: Cobra title.
One thing has become quite clear during this secondary run of G.I. Joe: Cobra…they’re making a concerted effort to introduce new and interesting Cobra characters throughout the title’s run, and they seem to be quite interested in sticking with the second tier characters.  Already we’ve seen Croc Master and Cobra La, and now with Issue #11, we get a look at a very different Big Boa.
How does it all work?  Click the Read the Rest of this Entry link below for the skinny.

Scrap Iron explodes into G.I. Joe: Renegades!

The hits just keep on coming for this new G.I. Joe animated series…  over the past two weeks we’ve met Breaker and Jinx, and now apparently, in Episode (which airs in January) we are set to meet Scrap Iron!  Who he works for and his motivations are currently unknown, but thanks to TVGuide.com, we know what his next moves are:

“Scrap-Iron kidnaps Tunnel Rat and uses him to test a weaponized exo-suit. Roadblock attempts a rescue by allowing himself to be kidnapped as well.”

Hmmm…a weaponized exo-suit?  Could it be this:

I guess we’ll find out January 7th!  Thanks to kennywr22 and The Terror Drome for the info.

G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode 4 Reviewed and added to Episode Guide

Wow.  Tonight, G.I. Joe: Renegades tackled the tough issue of Snake Eyes somewhat convoluted and adult-oriented origin, and I think they handled it very well.  Certainly not copying the Marvel continuity, but accurately representing the spirit and feel of the characters and the story in a cartoon for kids.  Kudos to the Renegades folks, especially Greg Johnson, who penned this particular episode.

GeneralsJoes Reviews IDW G.I. Joe RAH #161

Yesterday was a somewhat rough day for reviews…  with the Pursuit of Cobra Storm Shadow, I was pretty disappointed in the entire package.  I thought maybe diving into Hama’s normally fun Real American Hero series might end the day on a high note.  Unfortunately, I felt pretty underwhelmed about Issue #160 of that series as well.
Not willing to accept defeat that easily, I decided to jump right into Issue #161 of the Real American Hero title, as I was pretty impressed by what I saw in the 5-page preview.  You know what?  I’m really glad that I did.  The last issue left a bad taste in my mouth, but the series redeemed itself in a very big way with issue #161, and I hope this is the start of a new trend and not simply an exception to the rule.
