Good Lord I love Fridays. I always used to roll my eyes at the folks running around saying TGIF! TGIF! You know… I like my job, and my weekends are so damn busy that Fridays weren’t necessarily anything special.
Well, now Friday is “Renegades Day” and it’s definitely something special.
Over the past 3 hours or so I’ve watched the latest episode nearly three times, pulled clips, and posted it all up on the Episode Guide. You can also check out the review/entry itself at the link below:
Following their normal pattern, the awesome folks at Hubworld.com have posted the most recent update of G.I. Joe: Renegades. Episode Four: Return of the Arashikage Part 1 is online now!
I love seeing these on Hubworld…there’s something great about being able to watch this cartoon from anywhere, and the quality is awesome.
Check it out right here.
As we eagerly await the second part of the 2-part origin of Snake Eyes tonight, more information has been revealed about an upcoming episode of G.I. Joe: Renegades, including an appearance by someone key to the Snake Eyes origin in the Marvel Comics. According to TVGuide.com, G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode 9 will feature Zartan! Check out the description below:
“The Joes go on a mission to stop Zartan and his motorcycle gang from terrorizing a small town.”
We already knew the title of this episode was “Dreadnoks Rising” but now that we have confirmation of Zartan’s appearance, that makes it all the more exciting. Of course, I really have to start wondering when we’re going to see Destro.
This is a great thing about this new reinvented continuity, you could be in for a surprise every week! Looking forward to it.
Yeah, I’m a little slow on the draw this time around. I’d been DVR’ing a bunch of shows throughout the week, hoping to catch this one (which got cut off during the initial record of Episode 4).
Well, thanks to a tip from kennywr22, I recorded the reruns of Transformers: Prime tonight and… BINGO.
There is certainly some new footage in this particular promo, and it obviously puts a lot of attention on the conflict between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. Episode 5, Return of the Arashikage, Part 2 airs tomorrow at 5:30pm Eastern, only on The Hub! Check out the embedded video below.
With JoeCon coming much earlier in the year next year, the Convention Brochure has already been posted online!
The biggest revelation, of course, is the announcement of the Convention Exclusive sets! And would you look at this… something that I mentioned on the GIJCC Club forums a while ago, and have been talking about on these very pages looks to be coming to pass! No images, unfortunately, but enough details to make mouths water.
MISSION: BRAZIL II! Check out this figure lineup and tell me the 25th Anniversary fan inside of you isn’t giddy:
“This updated fan favorite set includes 15 figures in the 25A body style including unique Brazilian characters and Python Patrol troop builders. Every collector will want these 25A style action figures from this set! The G.I. Joe figures include Captain Claymore, Leatherneck, Wet-Suit, Mainframe, Dial-Tone and features the female secret agent, Sparta!
The Cobra figures include two Python Tele-Vipers, six Python Troopers and features the elusive Steel Cobra (Cobra de Aço)! Each of these great teams comes with their classic weapons and accessories in this exciting 2011 fifteen figure boxed set. Mission Brazil II will be a great addition to your collection!”
My only real caveat is that I hope while the Club uses the Special Missions: Brazil concept, I hope they don’t mirror the exact paint schemes. I’d love to see a classic Leatherneck, perhaps a Wet-Suit with the proper helmet, Mainframe with a better head sculpt, etc… the only question I have lies with Dial Tone. Obviously he got the classic homage with the 2011 incentive figure, so that makes me just a bit nervous that they might be going whole hog into the Special Missions: Brazil theme. Time will tell.
I’m sure folks will be crazy for the Python Patrol soldiers as well.
One very intriguing aspect here has to be the addition of Sparta. Released single carded in Brazil, Sparta was essentially a reissued Cover Girl. So will this re-release give fans the 25th Anniversary Cover Girl figure they’ve been after? It certainly appears that way.
Keeping my fingers crossed for some traditional paint apps, but beyond that, a terrific sounding concept. Really looking forward to seeing some image reveals. Check out the Brochure right here, and keep your eyes on GIJoeCon.com, this year (for the first time) we’re getting electronic registration, which promises to go up before Christmas.
Holidays and Convention Season…it really is the most wonderful time of the year!
What can I say? IDW seems to be on a roll this month… Hama’s G.I. Joe: Real American Hero title was fantastic this month, the mainline Joe title has shown a direct uptick, I’ve been deeply entrenched in G.I. Joe: Origins, and it’s been terrific seeing Chuckles thrust back into the spotlight during the G.I. Joe: Cobra title.
One thing has become quite clear during this secondary run of G.I. Joe: Cobra…they’re making a concerted effort to introduce new and interesting Cobra characters throughout the title’s run, and they seem to be quite interested in sticking with the second tier characters. Already we’ve seen Croc Master and Cobra La, and now with Issue #11, we get a look at a very different Big Boa.

Anyone who has checked out my site has seen updates from those awesome Philippine Joefans from ToySoldier118. But no matter how cool their work has been to this point, I don’t think anything has quite reached this level. While they’ve certainly done some awesome interior Dioramas, they are now branching outside…and not in a small way. They have created one of the largest scale G.I. Joe and 1:18 dioramas I’ve ever seen.
They are still gathering together images of the event, but have generously provided YouTube links showing some different angles of this ambitious project that just has to be seen to be believed. It really is awesome.
As always, you can check out their great website right here, and now view these videos below. Once I get the images I’ll show them off, too. Click the “Read the Rest of this Entry” link below for the great details of this diorama, as well as embedded YouTube videos. (more…)

The hits just keep on coming for this new G.I. Joe animated series… over the past two weeks we’ve met Breaker and Jinx, and now apparently, in Episode (which airs in January) we are set to meet Scrap Iron! Who he works for and his motivations are currently unknown, but thanks to TVGuide.com, we know what his next moves are:
“Scrap-Iron kidnaps Tunnel Rat and uses him to test a weaponized exo-suit. Roadblock attempts a rescue by allowing himself to be kidnapped as well.”
Hmmm…a weaponized exo-suit? Could it be this:
I guess we’ll find out January 7th! Thanks to kennywr22 and The Terror Drome for the info.
