Thanks to Phil Kost of JoeReloaded.com for relaying the info, IDW has sent out a press release about G.I. Joe: Cobra II (which launches January 27th much to my own delight!). I would imagine most of us have seen the art for the potential Cobra Commander reveal already, but this is the first time IDW has admitted that’s who it is. Below are the Solicitations for IDW G.I. Joe related comics for April, 2010. Gotta say, the “Operation: HISS” comic is looking pretty intriguing. My feelings on the Rise of Cobra universe continue to eb and flow, but it’s cool to see the story expanded in comic form, and it sounds like it may tie into the new web-based animated series as well. Looking forward to it.

The guys over at JoeCanuck have been going strong for two years now, and have posted Issue #25 of the JoeCanuck newsletter. You can check it out here. I’m happy to say I’ve helped contribute to this particular issue, with a review of the Canadian JoeCon exclusive Chacal Noir!

It must be new comics day coming up, because we’ve got 5-page previews of upcoming issues of G.I. Joe #14 as well as G.I. Joe: Origins #11. Both issues prove to be interesting additions to the continuity with the first appearance of the Hard Master and a focus on Beachhead’s memory loss…hopefully filling in some of the blanks.
