G.I. Joe themed book Kickstarters hit two at a time!

You don’t see a whole lot of G.I. Joe themed Kickstarter campaigns out there, but now all of a sudden we’ve got two excellent looking G.I. Joe books with campaigns running simultaneously.

Folks who have been reading GeneralsJoes know that I always throw some support behind the offerings of 3DJoes.  Carson does great work on his website, and always puts out a quality product.  You can check out the Kickstarter for The Art of G.I. Joe (Volume 2) here.

Along with this, Dan K. is also working to fund a great looking G.I. Joe book filled with fantastic early concept art for figures and vehicles.  Lots of never before seen details and looks at some concepts that may have never reached full production.  It’s a very unique and intriguing look at some of the concepts behind A Real American Hero and deserves a place on your shelf!

You can check out the Kickstarter for 3.75 Joe right here.

Pretty exciting stuff for a fanbase who is out there excited about all things G.I. Joe!

G.I. Joe Collectors Club reveals 2016 Incentive Pythona!

Ohh yeah… I’ve been waiting for this one ever since it was announced at JoeCon earlier this year. Finally, after 28 years, for the first time ever, we’re getting a Pythona action figure!

Cobra La is a polarizing element of the G.I. Joe mythology, but fans at large seem to be unified in the fact that Pythona was a necessary addition to their G.I. Joe collections. Well, the Collectors’ Club has officially filled that void, and filled it pretty darn nicely.

Featuring what looks to be a new head, new hands, and possibly a new cloak (or perhaps the comic pack Storm Shadow cloak), most of the heavy lifting is being done with very intricate and detailed paint applications.

I’m pretty surprised with how nice it looks. I had some concerns that without significant new tooling this figure couldn’t be done right, but based on the Photoshop mock up at least, those concerns were for naught. This is a great looking figure, and it will feel fantastic to finally have Pythona in my display.

Check out the image below, and keep watching GIJoeClub.com for all the details. If you want Pythona, make sure you’re a member of the G.I. Joe Collectors Club as of March 16th. You’re not gonna want to miss this one!

Hasbro NYCC Party reveals Kindle Worlds Fan Vote Artwork

If folks remember, back at JoeCon in April, Hasbro announced that they would be producing a new figure next year based on a character from one of the Kindle Worlds novels that are on Amazon.com.  This obviously excited me quite a bit, since I have a few of those novels posted myself.

Well, tonight at the New York ComicCon ‘Twas the Night Before party, Hasbro revealed fantastic artwork of four of these characters who will be included in a “Fan Vote” to decide which character gets the new figure next year!

This is very exciting news for me personally…as a diehard action figure fan and G.I. Joe collector for 30+ years, the possibility of a character I created getting made into an actual G.I. Joe figure has me almost giddy.  It’s a fantastic feeling!  The artwork Hasbro had done to represent my character (Whisper) is spectacular.

That being said, all four characters are new characters, which is very cool, and while I have my own skin in the game, it will be great to get a new character on the G.I. Joe or Cobra roster regardless of who created them.

Check out the images below, and if you need a refresher on Whisper, check out my Price of Peace trilogy on Amazon.  She plays a REALLY big role in that series of novels.
