The spring of our discontent with the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club continues…but things have gotta look up sometime soon, right? Just received the following email from Brian Savage at the Collectors’ Club:
“Hello,
It seems when it rains it pours. We just found out this morning that our printer has failed to mail you the March issue. This will be going out by Friday so they are incredibly late. If you don’t get yours by the end of the month, please let us know. We apoligize for the delay.
Brian”
So, those waiting for the March newsletter will have to wait a bit longer. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
I called them about this last week, and I guess they had no idea, as the nice lady on the phone asked that I wait until the 15th. I guess the Club doesn’t send these out themselves.
Sounds like poor management and leadership overall with the club. In my profession, a four or five month string of things like this would result in people getting fired and new leadership put in place. My opinion of their operation is pretty poor at the moment, although I am trying to be understanding that some things happened beyond their control. Thank goodness it only costs me $40 a year to be involved with them.
I hear what you’re saying, but I think they’ve done a great job for years. If anything, I think it’s more a matter of getting overwhelmed by issues from other companies…not that it isn’t in some way a fault of Fun Pub, but when you’re credit card company has poor security, and your printer fails to deliver, it’s not necessarily directly related to the hiring company. The real test is how they recover from the snafus.
I love the fact that club misspelled “apologize”…
Glad they sent out the notice…I was starting to wonder if maybe the CC troubles impacted the mailing. Actually, given rising postal costs and the slim nature of the newsletter, I’m sort of surprised they don’t switch to 6 annual mailings of a “double” sized issue.
