Well, here it is…the last of my “First Looks”… I am officially sad. My experience with this sampling of figures has been very enlightening, and I really want to thank Gyre Vipre for giving me the opportunity to reveal these figures.
There’s been a lot of great stuff (Red Ninja, Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes, most of Roadblock) but also some concerns as well, and I think this is likely indicative of the Retaliation line itself. Lots of ninja elements, but some very cool modern military elements, too, and I look forward to both.
Bring on May, and bring on a full blown G.I. Joe: Retaliation toy onslaught. I’m ready!
Until then, check out my G.I. Joe: Retaliation Review Page, or just click the link below for the last installment in my weeklong “First Look” segment. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have.
- G.I. Joe: Retaliation Snake Eyes (Ninja Showdown 3-Pack)
Definately like the padded cloth armor look. It seems like something a ninja would wear more so then the traditional things we see on Storm Shadow.
These new figures are looking somewhat lanky. That’s neither praise nor criticism; just an observation.
Ha! Read my mind comparing him to VvV wave 7 Snake Eyes. This’ll be my replacement for him, finally. I’ve been kinda trying to build one slowly, but this tosses all that work out the window!
Agreed, I immediately thought of that version a well when I saw this figure. And since that VvV figure is one of my all time favorites, getting a new age version of him is awesome!
Is it just me, or is the addition of rocker-ankles making the lower legs even longer than they were already?
Thanks so much for these reviews.
Now Gyre, not to sound ungrateful for everything you’ve already done……but any chance we’ll be seeing early reviews o f the single packs?
Nah. Probably not. As Justin said in his first review… there was a chance we weren’t going to show these off. I don’t have anything else for Justin to review and if I did it would probably end up under the “let’s not and say we did” category. With any luck I haven’t pissed anyone off by letting Justin review these.
not pissed by any stretch…..in fact, it was great seeing them this early.
but, therein lies my issue.
the end of may is now soooooooooo much further away.
gee, thanks.
Although its another Snake Eyes, it certainly looks good; wish we could see another characters, even if i’m a little concerned about those articulation issues
The figure is worth it just for thta fantastic looking Combat Webbing. The fact that he’s well sculpted with all the joints we love is a bonus.
That is a very nice figure and I don’t mind that it is another SE. I wish all the figs in this line had this level of articulation.
