–because Dollhouse starts on Friday.
Okay, confession time. No, I’m not a wannabe goth girl, and in fact I’m a nearly 35 year old father, and yes, I’m a Joss Whedon fan. I liked Buffy, I LOVED Angel, Firefly rocked my world, and Serenity was darn near perfect cinema. Don’t even get me started on Dr. Horrible…
I first heard about Joss Whedon’s new series Dollhouse early last summer, but was very disappointed when it was essentially just named as a mid-season replacement. Then to find out it was relegated to the wasteland of Friday nights? Urk. Well, regardless, I’m pretty excited to get treated to a new Joss Whedon series. Yeah, I know he’s big on “female empowerment”, but regardless of the content of his shows, they always have some of the smartest writing around, and characters that really come to life. I’m also a fan of Terminator and Battlestar Galactica, so Friday is going to be a pretty great television night.
The television season as a whole has been a lot better than we got with the strike-riddled year last year (well except for the horrid downturn of all aspects of once-great drama Heroes), let’s hope Dollhouse keeps it up.
It must be me, because Dollhouse reminds me of My Own Worst Enemy.
Here’s to FRIDAY NIGHT TV returning!!
