Although IDW’s Revolution storyline kicks off in September, the first G.I. Joe book spinning out of that event releases in October. IDW Publishing just sent out the solicitation information for October, so, as one might expect, some new tidbits about G.I. Joe’s new direction can be found within.
Below I’m posting any relevant G.I. Joe solicitations as well as the Revolution comic itself, considering any potential tie ins with the main Joe title. Obviously Hama’s Real American Hero comic is chugging right along as well! Check out all the details below.

Judging from the art I guess it’s safe to say that the types of stories and tone of the IDW Joe series is over, at least for now. Hopefully it’ll still be entertaining, it might just not be for me.
Since the only art that we see here is the cover, don’t be so sure. IDW likes to mix the art up on their covers for varieties sake. I mean check out the alternate Rom and Micronauts covers in the solicitations. Some pretty wild stuff.
And assuming that that cover is the standard one, it’s a different artist then the story artist. The art in the Road to Revolution backup story that’s running through some of the other titles right now seems pretty good.
But yeah, The GI Joe team having to exist in the same world as the Transformers, the Micronauts, Rom and M.A.S.K. means the tone of the book is bound to change. A move away from “realism” to a more science fiction feel.
I’m fine with that, but I know that it’s bound to be a deal-breaker to some people.
