I know with the flurry of JoeCon, I haven’t posted many updates about the Marauder “Task Force”, but I wanted to share some great news… the stretch goal for “Carmen” was reached a couple of days ago, which means the green camouflage figure will be available!
This is awesome news for fans of that figure. Marauder also posted some great new images and videos of the figures in action to give folks an idea of how these toys will work. Check out the new images below, and make sure to hit up the Kickstarter Project itself to see the new functionality videos!
With a current pledge amount of $92,000 there have been a number of great stretch goals released already, and still more to come! Go support the project now!
I backed the project! Hopefully the final toys are as cool as the prototypes are looking.
I gotta wonder when they say “gaming figures” if these are playable like a GIJoe figure….
Yes, they are. Marauder uses that term due to some Kickstarter regulations, and also to avoid trademark related comparisons to Hasbro’s action figure lines. They should be just as poseable and “playable” as any other 1:18 military figure out there.
Yeah, watch the videos on the project page. They show the features of the figures, including their articulation.
There’s photos as well that show the POAs too.
Basically……..think of the level of articulation from the Pursuit of COBRA figures of a couple of years ago, and that is what you’ll get.
If you look closely on the photos, and Marauder Gun-runners has confirmed this, that the wrists of the figures are both pivot AND swivel.
Their Facebook page also has additional photos and questions answered by them as well.
I assumed they listed these as “gaming figures” since the tabletop game section of Kickstarter — especially the miniatures games — get so much attention and traffic. It would be nice if there was a game system with these.
After a lull during Joecon, the pledging momentum has been steadily building.
Between this, Boss Fights’ H.A.C.K system, and Acid Rain……..the cottage-industry offerings are much more exciting than Hasbro’s very “meh” so-called “50th anniversary” stuff.
You ain’t kidding there, I hope these newer kids success!
I pledged this. It really looks good, and I’m planning to get one of everything at this point. Not sure about weapons at this point, I’ve been browsing their site to maybe get something to go in those pistol holsters and grenade loops.
