This isn’t strictly G.I. Joe news, but I couldn’t help but talk about it, anyway.
I think we all realize that Sigma 6 as it was known is most likely a dead concept at Hasbro. While many would celebrate that, I lament its place in the crypts, and I was really excited to find out that the spiritual founders of Sigma 6 and Xevoz are starting a new project!
The Hero Project is an endeavor from Tucker and Wayne from Dynamo Development Labs, and they were both the lifeblood of Sigma 6 and Xevoz, and you can really tell by the video shown on their Kickstarter page. The goal of these fine gentlemen is to fund a new action figure toyline, in the 8″ scale, with body design and accessory design very familiar to Sigma 6 fans. Pulling heroes from the annals of history, the Hero Project looks to earn some financial backing, enough to hopefully support this ambitious endeavor.
I happily pledged my money for this cause, and hope fellow Sigma 6 buffs will do the same. Perhaps now that many Joe fans are looking in the rear view mirror and can appreciate just how revolutionary and fun the Sigma 6 line was, they can get behind this project to bring more toys in that awesome format to market.
Check out the Hero Project on Kickstarter, and take a peek at the video below.
Thanks for the post. The feedback and goodwill so far has been overwhelming! We hope both Sigma and Xevoz fans will love this. Drop us a line and let us know what you think!

Thanks for posting this Justin! The idea is awesome and the designs look great. I put in my donation and posted over on the GeekDad Facebook page. I hope this gets full funding, I would love to see a whole series of Sigma 6-like cultural heroes. Rama and Spirit Iron-Knife could be an unstoppable “Indian archer” team. I would love to see some Greek, Roman, Chinese or American folk heroes. -DJ in Rhode Island
I’ll defiantly pledge some cash after my paycheck. I’m not going to lie the Celtic and Arabic art look more awesome than Rama. I hope this line make it that far down the line.
I am in love with this line already. I will contribute as much as I can manage. Thanks for bringing this to our attention Justin. I will spread the word as much as I can.
Very sad, no Christian heroes.
What necessitates Christian heroes?
Heroes from the old and new testaments of the bible, more than likely.
It’s a great idea, but I don’t think it’ll get funded. The figure is to much of a niche character (which I don’t like. The Celt &/or Viking would get me to back it). It should have been something more generic to get more backers
Fingers crossed for Gilgamesh and Enkidu!
Have to admit I’m a bit surprised by their choice… a bit obscure. Someone more “marketable” like Herakles/Hercules, Sinbad, King Arthur, etc.
I’m sure Rama is fascinating but he ends up looking kinda like a Na’Vi.
Whereas i understand posting this due to its relation to joe and sigma 6, I have to say it seems like a bit of a dead concept to me. That scale was not bad, but right now would likely be considered too expensive, or at least i’d imagine, not that profitable. Frankly, I wasn’t that big of a fan of Sigma 6 either. I bought a few because of the real american hero joe drought, but i don’t think i’d get back into that even if the small joes disappeared again. nothing personal.
I definitely plan to pledge and hope to see this happen. I didn’t care for Sigma Six but I flat out love the concept of turning cultural heroes into action figures. I’m not a huge fan of Rama per se, BUT – if funding it means that a Queztlcoatl, Beowulf, or, if I really want to be wishful, a Cuchulainn, Lugh Lamfada, or Fionn MacCumhaill, well, it’ll be thirty dollars well spent.
I’ll toss in my support in the morning. Gotta think about how much I want to do. This could be a really sweet line. I imagine it’d be internet only, but that really is the direction of toys these days, and I’m cool with that.
