We’re getting down towards the end of this massive top 10 list, breaking down all of the coolest things we saw in the Concept Case at the 2012 G.I. Joe Convention. Even though I strongly suspect that the G.I. Joe: Renegades vehicles have zero chance of ever being released (and according to JoeDeClassified’s interview with Derryl DePriest, he agrees with me) I can’t help but give them spots on this list.
I already talked about Flint’s Jeep with my number 4 ranking, but here at number 2 I had to focus on the big beast itself.
2 – G.I. Joe: Renegades Coyote
I think most of us fans of the G.I. Joe: Renegades animated series have been dreaming about the eventual release of the Coyote, but realistically I never expected it to happen. Considering the quick dismissal of the excellent Renegades animated series by Hasbro, even considering that they would invest big money in tooling up a new, larger sized vehicle, seems totally out of the realm of possibilities.
That being said, I was so blown away by the look, feel, and playability of the Coyote vehicle shown in the Concept Case, that I just had to mention it within the confines of the Top 10 list. I know it likely won’t be released, but it looks awesome, the press-button play feature is golden, and it would make the perfect endcap for a G.I. Joe: Renegades collection. I think that is perhaps what is so painful about the whole G.I. Joe: Renegades situation. The fact that we may not even get a complete Renegades team (where’s Roadblock, HASBLoowWW/??!1/?) and even if, by some massive stretch of the imagination, we do get Roadblock, there is probably a 2% chance we’ll ever see their trusty vehicle. So close, yet so damn far away.
But that won’t stop me from looking at the pictures of the Coyote from the 2012 G.I. Joe Convention Concept Case and dreaming a little dream…

I really hope this one sees the light of day, even if in a modified form as an armored troop transport or something.
I’m surprised Justin, I thought this would be your Number 1 pick. What could have been more cooler then the Coyote ( except maybe Kwinn)?
Ok never mind last post . Already figured it out. lol
IF (big “IF”) it were possible, this would make a FANTASTIC convention-exclusive vehicle. However, without the tooling existing I think that’s a no-go.
It needs the Zartans Bike that Snake Eyes stole, that lil touch would just add that much more…..
Awww, man, this thing is awesome. I never saw a shot of the back opened up. A transport vehicle that can actually transport a few figures instead of just seating one in the cockpit. What a concept.
Too bad the Renegades stuff is the longest of the long shots. I don’t have much interest in anymore Renegades figures but this and the Jeep should be able to fit in seamlessly into any Joe iteration.
Absolutely beautiful. Here is my dirty Gi Joe fantasy and it’s not the Baroness/Lady Jaye one I have. Roadblock was the main driver/mechanic of the Coyote so he is absolutely the one that should come with the vehicle. I want to see the Coyote with Roadblock as next year’s Joecon or SDCC exclusive. Fat chance I know. Maybe he was always supposed to come with the Coyote which is why he was never released single card.
The Coyote is awesome! I’ve voted number one. I would love to see that released. Thanks Justin for setting all this up for us so that we can have our say and beating hasbro in setting it up. You are right, this voting needs to be done when the proverbial “Flame is Hot”. Awesome initiative!! So thankful for all the hard work man!
Were the “weapons holes” features that are on this explained or discussed somewhere?
These features remind me of the VAMP, and even the RHINO, and the interchangeable accessory weapons.
I really don’t see why this would be all that hard to make, or sell.
It doesn’t seem like it is much bigger or more involved in design compared to a the RHINO. They made the first RHINO as a DTC product, that seemed to sell out.
And then it made it into, what, at least Target at a high price point?
This Coyote looks too production level to me, it’s got to be close, but I suppose, like you say, 2% and so close but so far away!
I would have had this at number one. A vehicle like this is basic, but would fit in just about any kids or collectors GIJoe line up.
Hasbro should have made this vehicle instead of that appalling Pit Mobile Headquarters. Even as a kid I wouldn’t want that monstrosity of a ship with wheels. Hasbro could make lots of money releasing this then make it into the cobra vehicle it originally was, instant army builder!
