Wow! I will admit I did not see this one coming, but I think they made a great choice! Using what mostly looks like Rise of Cobra Destro parts, the G.I. Joe Collectors Club has captured a great likeness of Colonel Brekhov, leader of the Oktober Guard!
Check it out at GIJoeCon.com or just take a peek at the mirrored image below.
Nice to see that tragically overlooked sculpt being reused. I’d love to score this figure to put another head atop it to make a ’30s-era aviator hero, but not at the price it’ll cost.
Not bad. But I’d have preferred a more modern take on the figures, rather than the Post WW2 Soviet era take we’re getting.
I feel the same way about these. I’m just not a fan of the WWII Soviet infantry look. Modern take would have been welcomed.
I seriously doubt the Oktober Guard’s uniforms have been updated SINCE WW2
I’d have like to see them use Lady Jaye v8’s legs and boots for Daina (that’s what I’m using for my Custom Daina). Brekhov really does look like a 1930’s air-adventurer. The riding boots are just too formal.
Very interesting choice of parts. This set is already a must have for me, but it will be hard to find on reasonable prices.
At least they are distinguishing from Red Star.
I’m a little disappointed. This figure is a bit too formal for the Roll-his-sleeves-up, cigar-chomping Brekhov.
OH MY GOD! That’s pretty sweet. Doctor Jones will surely encounter the Oktober Guard in one review or another 😉
I’m kind of getting tired of all these sneak peeks and stuff, especially from the club. Just release the sets in their entirety already, the waiting gets old..
Sometimes it feels that way, but I like hearing people’s opinions on each individual figure. We’d lose that if they just did it in one big reveal.
Good point, I can agree with that. The waaaiiiitiiing, is the hardest part..
Nice figure. This Oktober Guard set is showing real promise.
I’m sorry but that looks more like Dr. Venom in uniform that the Oktober Guard leader. And when did Brekov ever wear a tie?
Nice looking figure, but it ain’t the comic Brekhov I know well.
