Wow. Tonight, G.I. Joe: Renegades tackled the tough issue of Snake Eyes somewhat convoluted and adult-oriented origin, and I think they handled it very well. Certainly not copying the Marvel continuity, but accurately representing the spirit and feel of the characters and the story in a cartoon for kids. Kudos to the Renegades folks, especially Greg Johnson, who penned this particular episode.

I was skeptical about SS when I saw his costume design. I thought he was gonna’ suck but he is BAD- ASS!!! I love his character and so far he might be my favorite. I just wished they got rid of the hair.
Teenage snake eyes is sexy
My DVR missed the first recording for some reason but I was able to get it recorded later in the night. Good episode, and I’m very much looking forward to part 2. It would seem SS has no connection to Cobra as of now, and it would seem that he doesn’t seem to be the bad guy.
I prefer a story where SE was a soldier before he was a ninja, but this was well told. I like the idea that the Arashikages were fairly criminal first; makes the eventual Cobra/Arashikage alliance sensible…assuming there isn’t already one!
Must say, this series grows on me more with each episode.
Having long hair (the young Snake Eyes) seems to be based on the fact that both ancient Chinese warriors and Japanese Samurai and Ninja grew their hair quite long. Also, it wasn’t just Asians who did that, American Indians, Greeks, Europeans and others did as well. Story wise it seems like they’re holding on to that tradition and the writers seem to be going for that ancient Ninja look.
Yeah, it’s not very smart to judge a show based on a few drawings and on only one or two episodes.
I loved the episode! the entire story was insanely epic! and Teenage Snake Eyes was HOT!
