Wow. Only five pages in and this already looks like a thrill ride. Can’t wait to get out of work and hit the local comic shop so I can scoop this bad boy up. Check out the preview below.

G.I. Joe: Cobra #9
Mike Costa, Christos N. Gage (w) • Sergio Carrera (a) • Antonio Fuso (c)
The shocking conclusion to “Serpent’s Tales”! Scoop has gathered a wealth of information on Serpentor’s cult, the Coil. Now he plans to escape and reveal it to the world. Can one man bring down the Coil, or does its reach extend farther than anyone imagined?
FC • 32 pages • $3.99
Eh, Serpentor’s doomed to be the ultimate failure. In normal continuity he keeps popping up with some ultimate plan to conquer the world and usually gets his butt handed to him pronto and then he either gets killed or disapears.
I have my doubts he’ll fair much better as this alternate-version cult leader. 🙂
Wow… I can see why this is the lowest selling G.I. Joe monthly title. Five issues (Cobra 5 – 9) that in the end lead us nowhere. We are two years into this new reboot universe and we are really not much further along in overall G.I. Joe vs Cobra storyline then we were when we started. While the main book finally looks to be hitting a payoff just before “season 1” ends, COBRA continues to run the reader around in circles, with no payoff, as though the writers really do not know where they want to point the direction of the storyline.
Where though can they point the storyline? The “good guys” cannot win in a book like this. Makes for quite the depressing monthly pickup.
