I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve been eagerly anticipating this one. Beachhead is a guy that Sideshow can really go all out on without worry about fan repercussions. As long as he has his balaclava (which he does), and a basic military flak vest and camo, I really think Sideshow can pull out a lot of stops and pack him full of awesome military gear.
Well, here’s your chance to grab everyone’s (second?) favorite G.I. Joe Army Ranger. Click below to snag one before it’s too late! Loving the unmasked head…classic!
Sideshow Exclusive – Unmasked head and Beret!
Regular Release
THAT is an awesome figure. Exclusive pre-order is DONE. I can’t wait for this one.
This actually got me to sign up for Sideshow’s website and pre-order the exclusive.
Anyone else think that the exclusive portrait looks absolutely horrid? I will be avoiding the exclusive just so I would never have to look at that ridiculous look on his face.
Does Sideshow even look at the original figures before the make these? And what’s with that “Lollipop Guild” head?
Also, I know Hasbro screwed it up with the beret colors sometimes: green beret on Stalker, but a cherry red beret? Were they out of tan paint?
Well, Hasbro’s original figure had a red beret hooked to the vest just like Sideshow did it, so I would say, yeah, Sideshow definitely looks at the source material. Hell, they’ve got the crossbow in the backpack, too. I think the figure looks great.
That is so cool. Something great with Sideshow that some fans aren’t liking is that they’re mixing their classic looks with modern military equipment. If you were going to a GI Joe movie that closely followed the look of the series THIS is what they would look like on the big screen. I’m not really sure why people aren’t liking it.
I pre-ordered the exclusive, my first Sideshow figure….woohoo!
Whoa, no wonder he keeps that mask on all the time. Someone hit poor Beachhead in the face with a shovel!
I don’t think I’d want that guy on my shelf with the unmasked head…standin’ there givin’ me the stinkeye all night and day.
I don’t think the face is ugly, really; he’s sneering, and he appears to my eyes to have a wad of tobacco in his mouth, which is causing the bulge in the chin. Seems perfectly in character to me.
I don’t mind the face sculp – I think it has a good drill sergeant aspect to it. That said, I’d be leaving the balaclava’d head on for authenticity.
I just wish they’d put his pistol on his left hip like his original figure had. As a kid I always played Beachhead as left-handed because of that – I liked that it gave him some individuality amongst the other figures I had. It bugs me these days seeing how many of the new sculp action figures now have their equipment on wrong hip from yesteryear. (I’m looking at you, Resolute Duke.) I guess I’m just knit-picking.
And THAT is exactly what I’ve always imagined Wayne Sneeden looks like. None of this handlebar moustache crap we saw in the Beachhead/Dataframk comic pack. I like it. I wish I DID collect these, the assorment would look sweet on a display shelf.

Mask on all the time, fellas! he looks like a retard without it.
And it appears I cannot spell today. Oops.
