- Though the designers wanted to leverage vintage influence, they purposefully muted the color pallet of the figure from the original
- The package features artwork by Scott Johnson, a long time industry artist who also did the majority of the artwork on the GIJoe.Com website.
- An Easter Egg on the back of the Airborne package features a peek at the upcoming HasLab Dragonfly. Many collectors were confused as to why that HasLab did not include Airborne, instead Hasbro has produced him for mass retail
