Notes:
- Metalhead was first announced for pre-order at London ComicCon in late October
- This figure is part of Hasbro’s “Deluxe” price point at $34.99, similar to releases like Snow Job and Snow Serpent
- Metalhead is among the first figures that return to the see-through window box format, much to the delight of many collectors
- Metalhead’s packaging showcases the infamous Iron Grenadiers logo, the first G.I. Joe: Classified figure to bear that designation
- Metalhead comes with an additional hairpiece/goggles set to better mimic his 1990s look, though he also comes with a spikey helmet for a more distinctive appearance.
- The rocket launching backpack and leg mounts are a whole new design for Classified, going in a different direction than the 1990 version did. Each rocket also comes with a firing plume so it can look as though the rockets themselves are actually firing
- Because of Metalhead’s “metalhead” nature, he features a callout to Cold Slither on his armored collar
- Easter Eggs on the back of Metalhead’s package include a derailed train as an homage to a DIC animated episode “Granny Dearest” in which Metalhead appeared. Another star of that episode was the Dreadnok Gnawgahyde, who appears to be standing on top of the train in the background.
