Pre-Order Date: October 31, 2023
Release Date: TBD
Notes:
- Mutt and Junkyard were first revealed during San Diego ComicCon, but were not announced for pre-order until London ComicCon in late October
- This figure is part of Hasbro’s “Figure with Pet” price point at $44.99 where a fully articulated Junkyard is included as part of the deluxe package
- Mutt and Junkyard are among the first figures that return to the see-through window box format, much to the delight of many collectors
- Mutt comes with a number of different sets of hands, something that the G.I. Joe: Classified designers have been wanting to do for a long time
- As with other goggle-wearing figures, Mutt comes with a pair of goggles, one to be worn on his helmet, the other fits over his eyes
- Mutt and Junkyard are a regular retail release (like Scrap Iron and Snake Eyes w/ Timber) meaning they should be made available in brick and mortar stores as well as online
- The G.I. Joe designers insisted that the Junkyard figure feature a “good boy” alternate head sculpt, showing a kinder and gentler variation of the infamous Rottweiler.
- The back of Mutt’s package shows an approaching crocodile, which could either be a reference to Croc Master, or a callback to the “COBRA’s Creatures” episode of the Sunbow animated series from the 1980s.
