Along with Heavyweight, this was another figure I really was not aware of until I restarted my C.O.P.S. collection not too long ago. These two larger series 2 vehicles must have not made it to many store shelves, and it can sometimes be a toss up as to which one is tougher to track down, the A.T.A.C., or the Highway Interceptor. Once I did get this figure, though, I immediately had an affinity for him, even though he is relatively simple in design and not real elaborate in execution.

Something about Roadblock just screams "highway cop". From the dark sunglasses to the zip up overcoat, to the obvious designation of "Highway Interceptor" for his vehicle, this guy belongs on the streets, and he looks it. In fact, in my little corner of the C.O.P.S. world, Roadblock and Highway went to the Academy together and are old friends...they can often be found working together to clean up the streets.

Roadblock's sculpt is terrific in it's simplicity. His swept back hair and sunglasses immediately give him a "cool" demeaner, and you can tell he's calm and collected behind the wheel. His jacket is nicely sculpted with a realistic assortment of wrinkles and folds in the cloth, and a nicely detailed zipper. His legs are plain and non-heavily detailed, but still work, and I really like those tall sleeves he's wearing over his shoes. A nice little bit of extra detail.

His colors are very straight forward, too, pulling a few pages out of Airwave's and A.P.E.S.' book. He's mainly clad in white and dark blue, and while this color scheme is used here and there, it still works, and I like how bright the figure is...it gives him some real style.

As for weapons, he doesn't have much, but what he has makes sense and is executed very well. He comes with a simple rubber holster that snaps around his waist and holds a very, VERY cool revolver-format pistol. Possibly one of my favorite little pistols in the entire series of toys. That was one thing that Hasbro did really well with this line; they took the familiar revolver format and really designed some incredibly cool looking pistols from it. Highway, Heavyweight, and Roadblock here got the best of them, I'd say.

All in all, there is nothing outstanding or elaborate about the Roadblock figure, but regardless, he is just a downright cool looking customer and fits his specialty perfectly. He's one of my favorite figures in series 2, and is a critical part of my C.O.P.S. roster. The Highway Interceptor isn't seen real often, but when it does, it's usually pretty affordable. I don't think you'll be disappointed in the vehicle or the figure that comes with it.
