Bullet-Proof is, to me, the absolute CORE of the C.O.P.S. team. He was my first figure, and he basically embodies all of the cool stuff about the C.O.P.S. line, and is one of the greatest figures of the two year run, and easily one of the best of the first series. Bullet-Proof's overall appearence is that of your classic "G-Man" with the dark sunglasses, the short trench coat, suit and tie, briefcase, the whole nine yards. He looks very cool as he is and makes for a great leader for the C.O.P.S. team. Looking at him, he looks like your every day federal agent, just as he should.
But he gets REALLY cool once that trench coat comes off, and you see exactly why this guy is called "Bullet-Proof". He barely survived an assassination attempt by Big Boss' goons, and thanks to next generation surgery, he is alive and holding a grudge. The overall figure is really expertly sculpted. From the plain sculpting of the every day suit and tie to the drastic change and exciting design of his cybernetic torso, there is a little bit of everything in the figure and he strikes me as just being a fantastic character, and the figure is great to boot. Like I mentioned with Berzerko, Bullet-Proof's articulation and movement is unhindered, and he's just flat out fun to play with. It's great, because he fits in seamlessly with the others, yet has this underlying "super power" of a sorts that makes him a step above. A very cool character, and one of my favorite figures.
His colors are plain and basic, but work. Browns, tans, and blacks all fit the typical no nonesense Agent cause perfectly, and if anything, make him look even more dangerously non-descript. This is a guy you wouldn't look twice at on the street, but who is constantly scoping out his surroundings and preparing to take the next Crook down. And if he comes after you, he's definitely got the edge.
Bullet-Proof's greatness continues with his accessories. The black machine gun is sculpted brilliantly and looks nice...plus, unlike Longarm's, he can hold it very well and it fits him to a "T". Then you have his metal briefcase, which really opens, AND attaches to his wrist with a cuff. Such a simple little addition, but a very, VERY cool one, and an awesome touch to this federal agent that makes him all the cooler. The cherry on top, though, definitely has to be his real cloth trench coat, which subtly hides his bullet proof metal torso and helps him fit in so well with the C.O.P.S. around him. All of these accessories are simply conceived, simply executed, but come out pretty much perfect.
I think Hasbro can thank Bullet-Proof for getting me into the C.O.P.S. mythos back in the day. He was my first figure, and I loved him so much that it drew me into the C.O.P.S. toyline as a whole. Great, great figure and a must have for anyone's C.O.P.S. collection.
