As with every toyline, the C.O.P.S. & Crooks toyline had to be conceived conceptually before toys were made or the cartoon/comic were produced. Here we have some concept art for a few different characters and a few different properties.
First of all, we get a very rare glimpse at some conceptual artwork of the characters as they were planned to appear in the comic and the cartoon. I must thank a very generous person who wished to remain anonymous for providing us with these very cool scans and an inside glimpse of how the characters are conceived before you see them on the page or the screen. You can click on the small pictures to see much larger versions of them.
Longarm and Sgt. Mace:
Officer Bowser & Blitz:
Mainframe (who was a character exclusive to the comic and cartoon and never appeared in figure form):
And we have some Crooks to look at, too:
Berzerko and Squeaky Clean (another cartoon/comic only character):
Big Boss and Dr. Badvibes:
Other miscellaneous character/concept art:
Along with art for the cartoon and comic, the toys themselves obviously had to have some sort of conceptual foundation before they went along. The artwork below looks much more likely to be possible card art than merely conceptual drawings, but it should be mentioned that a lot of the card art for the released figures ended up different than what you see below. Still, the art work is amazing and it's very cool to see it presented this way.
And if anyone has checked out the Series 3 Page in the Unproduced Section, they'll know about the art for the third series, which unfortunately never saw the light of day. Here it is in this section, too:
Big thanks to McNabb Studios for allowing me to use these images!
