G.I. Joe: ARAHC - Big Brawler

What is it about this guy that makes him so cool? Honestly, I do not know. He has a somewhat goofy face and that neck is WAY too long, but overall, this figure is just plain great!

First, you start with a classic mold. My love for Outback is known in the Profiles area already, and everything that’s cool about him is here in spades. He’s got the great muscular build, with a HUGE chest and large arms. Besides that, the mold is simple, but effective. The plain T-Shirt, army greens, and that’s all he needs. It worked for Outback because of his Survival background. For Big Brawler it works equally well, but for not such a obvious reason…it just works.

Sure, The Brawler’s filecard is WAY over the top, but as a character, he is still very well done. He strikes me as a brash, rough and tumble enlisted man who is pounding his way though his career happily. I can see him being an over-the-top trooper, always thinking outside the box, and always “overdoing” things. A cool personality and a very cool figure to boot!

Why, though? Why does this figure strike me like that? Who knows? He is a simple, plain infantry trooper…huge muscles, stern glare and a sharp temperment. Nothing really extraordinary about him, but he works. From his plain olive green t-shirt, proudly emblazoned with the ARMY logo, to his green swirl camo pants, he is the epitome of the “grunt”, although a grunt in a special operations capacity. A very welcome member to the team.

Not only that, but his accessories are fantastic as well! He happily comes with Outback’s flashlight, although I wish he had his webgear as well. He also comes with a great, simple military backpack and Red Star’s terrific AK-47. All in all, with all of his accessories, he is a great trooper, and will fit into my Joe team seamlessly. He gets my top pick for Wave 4, a Joe getting that honor for a change. Pick this guy up, he’s worth it!
