Ahh, Sundown...let the stereotypes continue! ;)

Like Wild Bill in the G.I. Joe line, Sundown expresses what everyone outside of Texas thinks about Texas...your typical moustached smart-talking Texas sheriff with twin six-shooters and his western attitude. Thankfully there isn't quite so much of a western influence in the rest of the figure. The cowboy boots are there, but buried under the ankle-length pants and without the exhorbitant frill and such.

In spite of these somewhat stereotypical elements, the figure itself is actually very cool. Very simple, very straight forward, but still nicely effective and a cool overall figure. His head sculpt is solid and nicely detailed, being wide, somewhat smirking, with a thick "Texas-style" moustache. His torso is streamlined with a pretty standard tunic-style shirt with a neat triangle pattern and well presented C.O.P.S. badge. His tunic is sleeveless and his oversized arms look great, right down to the short gloves. His pants are ankle-length western style over the aforementioned cowboy boots, silver in color to match the silver holsters on each thigh. These holsters break things up nicely, although I'm very disappointed that the holsters are not functional. With functional holsters this figure would just be awesome. As it is, the figure is still great, but not perfect.

The colors are pretty straight forward with a nice shade of white and brown to compliment each other, broken up nicely by the silver. The gold badge is another bright spot and all of the colors work really well together. Sundown's accessories are a little on the strange side, but still make sense in some regard. He's got a nice removable cowboy hat that fits his head well, and his twin pseudo-futuristic six-shooters are very nice, too. His swivel wrists can hold them well, and he looks great with them. The strageness comes with his "bolo-firing" backpack, which doesn't seem to really fit. I guess it ties into the whole western rodeo philosophy, but ultimately, the hat and the pistols are all the gear he needs, and I think it's actually pretty cool that he might go up against some heavily armed Crooks with just two small pistols.

Sundown is another figure with some great, free-moving articulation, sleek styling and a very cool looking figure. His price generally runs pretty low, as well, so I can absolutely recommend a purchase for Sundown.
